crisis, presenting to its numerous visitors the best business proposals from the world franchise market and offering the chance to companies from Greece and abroad to expand their networks in Greece, the Arab Countries and the Balkans.

More than 500 companies have participated in the exhibition the past 14 years and have successfully developed their networks throughout Greece. The efficiency of the exhibition, which has been recognised as a ‘5 star', exhibition by international magazines, has, also, contributed to the growth of the franchise industry in Greece: 650 chains, 185 from which come from the International market, 20.000 franchisees.

It is true that crisis has rendered people more cautious regarding the investments, yet, franchising is still growing, offering the security that people seek. More than 5.000 determined buyers originated from Greece and abroad visited the exhibition held on 2 to 5 March 2012, demonstrated this tendency since they were willing to open a business but only as a part of a well established franchise chain. It is worth noting that 18.93% of those visitors were interested in purchasing a concept with international appeal, thus a concept from the international market.

Aiming to present innovative concepts to a broader audience, KEM Franchise Exhibition was held under the auspices of the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development, attracting a considerable number of visitors from the Arab countries (Saudi Arabia � Lebanon � United Arab Emirates � Qatar � Kuwait). The exhibition also, attracted visitors from the Balkans, Russia, USA, Mexico, China and South Africa.

The Exhibition was, also, held under the auspices of the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce, the Franchise Association of Greece, the European Franchise Federation (EFF) and the World Franchise Centre (WFC).

KEM is strengthening its efforts to continue these co-operations next year and contributes to the development of Greek and international franchise concepts, organizing the next exhibition on March 2013, Athens - Greece.
