Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops Announces Newest Franchisee In Loves Park

(Monday, August 31, 2009) - Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops recently announced that Thomas Corso has purchsed the business assets and franchise rights for the Merlin 200,000 Miles Shop in Loves Park, located at 5590 E. Riverside Boulevard (815-877-5577).

Thomas Corso began his career in the manufacturing industry with JLM, Inc. in Bensenville, IL. Having a love of cars and looking for personal advancement, Mr. Corso acquired his first Merlin shop in 1995 in Schaumburg, IL and in a relatively short period of time grew the business and exceeded all previous shop sales records. In November 1996, Mr. Corso sold his franchise rights and returned to the manufacturing industry. For the next seven years he managed all operations at JLM, Inc. until reentering the auto service business in 2003 when he opened the new Merlin shop in Cary, IL. Building on his previous record of success, Mr. Corso was awarded a "Fast Start Award" for first year sales records and a "We Care" Award for excellence in customer service. He remained the franchisee of the Cary shop until 2006 when he sold his interst and retuned to his previous industry with an equity position relative to a manufacturing plant in Huntley, IL. The serious economic uncertainies threatening the manufacturing industry as compared to the relative stability of the auto repair business, combined with his past achievements and love of the business, have prompted Mr. Corso to once again return to Merlin.

The past has proved that Mr. Corso, together with his wife Lynn, will continue the record of success shown in their Schaumburg and Cary operations..

A Merlin 200,000 Miles Shop provides both repair and maintenance services as well as tires - almost anything a consumer would need during the first 200,000 miles of their car's life (except car washes, major engine, transmission, and collision repair).
