Value Place To Build Two New Hotels In Jacksonville

(Tuesday, June 09, 2009) - An extended-stay hotel chain is preparing to start construction on two new locations in Jacksonville.

Wichita, Kansas-based Value Place has two franchise-owned locations in Jacksonville already, and hopes to start construction on another two at 6900 103rd Street and 10520 Balmoral Circle W. as corporate-owned locations by the end of 2009, although they will also be available for franchise purchase.

Permit records were not available, but according to the Duval County Property Appraiser's Office, the company acquired both parcels in 2008 for a total of about $1.5 million.

The existing Value Place locations on Saland Way and Dames Pointe Crossing Boulevard opened in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

The company currently has more than 130 locations open in 25 states and expects to open another 35 by the end of 2009.

Gina McKee, the company's vice president of franchise development, said the company plans to open three more hotels in the Jacksonville area by 2012.
