Figaro's Serves Up Slices To Fight Cancer

Participating locations include:

5399 Commercial Street, in Salem.
2050 Lancaster Drive NE, in Salem.
340 Lancaster Drive NE, in Salem.
4688 Portland Road NE, in Salem.

Osteogenic sarcoma is one of the most common types of bone cancer in children.
The disease usually occurs in long bones, such as the arms, legs, and pelvis. It rarely occurs in the jaw and fingers, but often occurs at the ends of these bones near growth plates. Major symptoms include pain, swelling, limitation of joint motion, a high frequency of fractures, and eventually fever and general debilitation. It typically occurs about 50 percent more frequently in adolescent males than in females, possibly because of the rapid growth rate at this age. Prior to adolescence, the percentage of affected males and females is equal.
Prognosis and long-term survival varies greatly from child to child. Treatment and is often tailored around each child's needs.
Each Figaro's Pizza location is independently owned and operated.
