Goodfella's Pizza Of Staten Island Wins 'World's Best Pizza' Contest

(Monday, March 16, 2009) - Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza of Staten Island, N.Y., won two championship titles at the International Pizza Expo 2009 in Las Vegas, the company has announced.

Goodfella's was named "Best Pizza in the Eastern Division of the United States" and "World Champion Winner." The company received a total of $10,500 in prize money.

The scoring was based upon Taste, Presentation, Crust Structure and Culinary Skill. The winning pizza consisted of blackberry brandy champagne cream sauce, homemade fresh mozzarella, fresh lobster, shrimp and lump crabmeat surrounded by a coconut cheese-infused crust.
