Dunkin' Donuts Sells Out Mobile Franchises
MOBILE (Wednesday, December 10, 2008) -
Dunkin" Donuts announced Wednesday that it signed a development agreement to open 40 restaurants in Mobile and Pensacola, Fla.
In the deal with Gulf Coast Franchise Group LLC, six restaurants will open in Mobile and three in Pensacola in 2009, with the rest opening in the next six years.
Dunkin"� Donuts started looking for franchisees in Alabama in May and said it plans to open 142 stores in the next several years.
Markets targeted within the state for franchise development included Birmingham, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville and Mobile/Pensacola.
The 40-unit Mobile/Pensacola deal sells out both markets to future franchise development, the company said, but Dunkin"� Donuts is still seeking franchisees to purchase a minimum of five restaurants in the rest of the state of Alabama.
Gulf Coast Franchise Group is a subsidiary of Capital Franchise Group Inc. of Jackson, Miss.
Dunkin"� Donuts has more than 7,900 restaurants in 30 countries.
