Accor North America Opens 30 Locations

New Additions Join Over 950 Economy Lodging Properties Offering Great Amenities at Affordable Rates

(Thursday, October 23, 2008) - Accor North America, one of the nation's largest owner/operators of economy lodging, announces the opening of 30 Motel 6 and Studio 6 locations during the first three quarters of 2008. Openings include 28 Motel 6 locations and 2 Studio 6 locations, with a total room count of 2,767. In line with Accor's plans to double the number of franchise properties for its economy brands and reach 50 property openings by year's end, the following locations are now open:

The 2008 additions include 26 franchises and four corporate-owned properties, covering 20 U.S. States and one Canadian province. Accor North America currently has more than 950 economy lodging locations in the U.S. and Canada, with roughly 25 percent of its network consisting of franchises.
