Donatos Signs On To Hawk Pizza At The 'shoe

(Tuesday, August 26, 2008) - Donatos Pizzeria LLC has expanded its sponsorship with Ohio State University to include exclusive vendor rights to sell pizzas during Buckeye football games at Ohio Stadium.

The Columbus-based pizza chain said Tuesday it signed a seven-year agreement with OSU's athletics department, giving it rights to sell pizza at the stadium, starting with this Saturday's game against Youngstown State University. Tom Santor, Donatos' executive director of marketing, didn't disclose terms of the agreement.

Donatos said it refurbished seven vending spaces at the stadium to replicate its store oven and cooking lines.

Santor said Donatos has been a longtime sponsor of OSU athletics. The most recent agreement came 10 years ago, when the university opened the Jerome Schottenstein Center and contracted with the company for concessions, he said.

The pizza chain operates 177 stores in six states.
