Greener Subway Franchise Boosts Public Image
(Monday, April 28, 2008) -
These days green is big and franchises are capitalizing on this. Subway is one of the most recent franchises to begin using its environmental friendliness as a selling point. Itīs really not a bad way to go, since consumers are very aware of the environment and appreciate businesses that go green.
What is Subway doing that is making franchise history? Theyīve switched to 100% recycled paper napkins. That may not sound like much, but it saves up to 147,000 trees per year! Thatīs quite the impact and customers are happy about it. The mega franchise has also begun using polypropylene rather than polystyrene for all their plastic cutlery and drinking cups. This is also a greener way to go, saving oil and huge amounts of pollution each year, among other things.
A greener franchise makes for better public image and big franchises like Subway know that. Itīs a good idea to consider the environmental side of things when looking into franchise opportunities to invest in. Even relatively small franchises can already be taking steps to being more environmentally friendly.
