Chemed Purchases Roto-rooter Franchise

(Wednesday, April 02, 2008) - Chemed Corp. has added to its Roto-Rooter holdings with the purchase of a Topeka, Kan., franchise.

Cincinnati-based Chemed didn't disclose terms of the deal, which closed Tuesday. The franchise for the plumbing and drain cleaning service includes Topeka and the surrounding area, it said in a news release.

Chemed Corp. (NYSE: CHE) operates two wholly owned subsidiaries: Vitas Healthcare and Roto-Rooter.
