3 Area Hooters Restaurants Picked Up In Franchise Sale
The company that operates three Central Ohio Hooters bar-restaurants has been sold to an Australian business.

Louisville, Ky.-based RMD Corp. said Thursday it sold its assets to South Pacific Partners Ltd. South Pacific is the operating arm of the Australian Enterprises LP, the Hooters franchisee for Australia and New Zealand.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but the company said the sale included its 39 restaurants in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee, real estate holdings and future development rights. RMD, the oldest Hooters franchise, operated restaurants at Polaris, in Hilliard and on the far east side of Columbus. A total of seven Ohio restaurants were picked up in the deal.
Hooters operates or franchises 435 Hooters restaurants in 43 states and 25 countries. The first Hooters opened in 1983 in Clearwater, Fla.
