The race was televised at 7:30 PM (EST) on ESPN June 30th, 2007 and we cheered on Vitor in the Kart Trax Formula Racing and Delphi sponsored #4 Honda. Vitor had an on board camera for this exciting night race in Richmond Virginia where the Kart Trax logo was seen on the lower right of the camera during the entire race. We feel by partnering with Panther Racing, one of the premiere race teams in IndyCar, Kart Trax Formula Racing can continue recruiting prospects and expanding franchises beyond our current 11 territories with this national television exposure. Brazilian Vitor Meira is the latest talented star to steer the team's car to the front of the IndyCar pack. Vitor Meira has finished second-place in seven different races the past three seasons, including the second-closest finish in Indy Racing League History "" at Kansas in 2004 "" and a thrilling second place finish in the 89th Indianapolis 500. In 2006 Meira finished fifth in points just behind the strong two-car operations of Marlboro Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing after collecting eight consecutive Top Ten finishes, with five Top Fives "" including running-up results at Watkins Glen and Richmond "" in just his first nine starts. His seven Top Five and 12 Top Ten finishes were career-highs and he equaled Sam Hornish Jr.'s 2001 and 2002 team record for Top Tens in a season. Vitor was named the inaugural winner of the IRL's Rising Star Award, given in honor of the late Tony Renna.
