Ribbon Cut For New Holiday Inn Express
Second hotel may come to Grand Blanc Township area
(Friday, August 17, 2007) -
They're talking about a new upscale hotel for Genesee County. It would be owned by the man who just opened a Holiday Inn Express in Grand Blanc Township.
But first, the proposed hotel. No deals have been signed, but the owner of the new hotel off Holly Road says Genesee County is a great place to invest.
"It's a great day," said Grand Blanc Township Supervisor Jeff Zittel.
The focus at the event? The new $4 million Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites. Its 77 rooms have been open since before the Buick Open. But it's owner isn't finished with Genesee County.
Instead, he's looking to develop another hotel property with an announcement expected within six months.
The new Holiday Inn sits in the Regency Park development at I-75 and Holly. Its developer, Jerry Mansour Jr., says several other new projects have just been signed.
Just down Holly Road, ground will be broken next week for Buffalo Wild Wings. Zittel says he's not concerned with the slow progress of Trillium Circle.
And on another development note, Zittel says the Meijer project isn't dead. He says he's working to assist Meijer in its bid to put a store somewhere in Grand Blanc Township.
