New Fruit And Vegetable Sorbet Flavors At Paciugo This Summer(Tuesday, April 17, 2007) - How about having some sweet sorbet this summer to cool down from the sizzling sun and satisfy your daily fiber intakes at the same time? It is not a cruel joke. It is Paciugo's first savory flavor collection that combines the sweet flavors of fruit with the refreshing textures of vegetables. Starting in June, fruit and veggie flavors, including Mango Cucumber, Strawberry Celery, Banana Carrot, and Lime Mojito, will be prepared in each Paciugo, an artisan gelato company, gelateria. A selection of these flavors will continue to be made fresh daily throughout the summer. Inspired by an Italian yogurt brand called "Granarolo," Paciugo set out to create fruit and vegetable sorbet combinations earlier this year as possible solutions to people's traditional love and hate dilemma with vegetables "I love the sweetness of the fruit and the freshness of the vegetables," said Cristiana Ginatta, Paciugo's Mastro Gelataio. "If we can find a way to make them taste great together as a sorbet flavor, then more people will be encouraged to enjoy them more often." Following Paciugo's long-standing commitment to product quality and freshness, none of the flavors in this collection contains trans fat (hydrogenated vegetable fats), high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavoring, and artificial ingredients. The company preserves all the fiber from the fruit and vegetables in its sorbet flavors and uses whole milk instead of cream for the gelato flavors.
