LAS VEGAS, NV (Friday, June 01, 2007) - We are looking forward to the October 22, 2007 opening of our new ELS Language Center in Las Vegas, NV on the campus of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). This new location is only 6 miles from downtown Las Vegas and its many attractions. Students may choose to continue their studies in one of CSN's many associate degree or certificate programs. Students will have the choice of living in off-campus apartment-style housing or with a host family. The ELS Las Vegas Center will offer our standard English Programs (Intensive English, Semi-Intensive English and American Explorer Programs). This location will follow the "B" schedule.



Housing Options for ELS/Las Vegas Students



Homestay Option: ELS Las Vegas will offer accommodations in a private room with an American family. This option includes 16 meals per week. Homes are located 30 to 40 minutes from campus by bus (some families might drive students to campus). The minimum age is 16 years old.



Price - $830


Apartment-Style Housing Option: Students at ELS Las Vegas can live in 2-bedroom, furnished apartments in the Vista Del Rey Apartment Complex. Each bedroom will house 2 students (4 students per apartment). This is a gated community two blocks from campus. Apartments have fully equipped kitchens with microwave ovens. Vista Del Rey has laundry facilities, a fitness center, swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and computer access with free Internet service (in the business center). No meals are included in the price below, but there are many places to eat on campus and within walking distance of Vista Del Rey. A grocery store is nearby. The minimum age for Vista Del Rey is 18.

Area/Location Profile

ELS/Las Vegas is located at the College of Southern Nevada, where students will take their classes. ELS students will have access to the college's computer labs, library, and dining facilities. Las Vegas boasts world-class shopping, restaurants, entertainment in addition to the hotels and casinos along the famous Las Vegas Strip. Within a few hours there are ski resorts and lakes for water sports as well as such popular tourist attractions as Lake Tahoe, the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon and other national parks and monuments.
