Ifa Honors Ray Howell Of Meineke Car Care Centers

: Meineke Owner named 2006 Franchisee of the Year

(Monday, March 12, 2007) - Raymond L. Howell Jr., franchise owner of eight Meineke Car Care Centers located in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina was selected as an International Franchise Association (IFA) "Franchisee of the Year" and honored at the IFA 47th annual convention held recently in Las Vegas. The award is bestowed upon franchise owners who have helped elevate their brand's reputation and customer loyalty.

"Ray Howell is an outstanding franchisee who has demonstrated true entrepreneurial spirit over his 20-year relationship with Meineke," said Meineke President and CEO Ken Walker. "Our franchisees are very success-oriented people by nature. Ray's incredible attitude and business savvy has helped him assemble a string of outstanding Meineke Centers, each staffed by an unstoppable team dedicated to growing both the Meineke brand and a loyal customer base."

In the past year, this long-term Meineke franchisee purchased two existing Meineke Centers, which were floundering, and quickly increased their sales utilizing the Meineke System and the addition of new repair services. Current Chairman of the Meineke Dealer Advertising Committee, Ray has long been a leader in the push for continued training and education of his employees. His sponsorships of local school, civic and social organization events reflect his commitments to his community and the strength of the Meineke brand.

IFA is the world's oldest and largest organization representing franchising. The annual IFA Franchisee of the Year Award presentations are made possible by a contribution from the PepsiCo Foodservice Division. This year, 55 franchisees, including international business owners, were presented with an IFA "Franchisee of the Year" award.
