‘junior Journalist' Contest Opens Today

(Wednesday, July 11, 2007) - The EXPLORER newspaper and Peter Piper Pizza are co-sponsoring the Junior Journalist Writing Contest, which starts today (July 11).

The contest is open to children ages 9 through 12. Entry forms are available at Peter Piper Pizza, 7621 N. Oracle Road, in the Oracle Crossings Shopping Center.

Children are asked to write 75 to 100 words. The contest's first topic is "My Family's Favorite Summer Activity."

Every child who enters will receives a mail coupon for a free individual pizza. Coupons are mailed after the written entry form is returned to Peter Piper Pizza. Deadline is Aug. 15, 2007.

The winner of the contest will receive a free pizza party for 12 and will be featured in a story in the EXPLORER newspaper.

Junior Journalist Writing Contests also are scheduled for Sept. 12 and Nov. 7.
