Medichair Kamloops Moves To New Store

Growth in local Home Medical Equipment (HME) market prompts company to open larger store with more products and services

KAMLOOPS, BC (Wednesday, June 20, 2007) - "We just outgrew our existing store," says Shawn Wiesner, Co-owner, MEDIchair Kamloops. "After much thought and discussion, we decided the best opportunity was to move across the street to 450 Lansdowne Village. This location had the right kind of retail space that we required to expand our product and service offerings to accommodate the growth we are experiencing in the (HME) market."

Wiesner noted that MEDIchair Kamloops will nearly double in size from 5,000
square feet to approximately 9,000 square feet.
Some of the features of the new store include:
-Upper and lower retail space that is accessible by wheelchair;
-In-store working elevator;
-Three drive-in car bays suitable for vehicle modifications;
-Designated service area for product repairs with certified technicians;
-Outdoor and underground parking with handicap spaces;
-Large, flat screen monitors to display product videos and in-store messaging;
-In-store van demonstrating lift devices and rotating seats;
- Designated areas displaying the latest products and ideas for the Bathroom, Bedroom, Scooters/Wheelchairs/Walkers,
Stair Lifts, Lift Chairs, Daily Living products and Rehabilitation supplies;
-Rental equipment both new and used.
"To fully utilize our retail space, we hired professional designers and interior decorators that showed us how to enhance and maximize the customer sales and service experience," explains Wiesner.

The new store means that MEDIchair Kamloops may add up to five new people before year-end, bringing the total head count to approximately 15. As well, a new service cube van, complete with external signage, will be introduced to provide the pick up, delivery and repair needs of MEDIchair Kamloops' customers.

Wiesner added that MEDIchair's proximity to a medical walk-in clinic and Occupational Therapist offices will also make it easier for customers to receive MEDIchair's one-stop shopping experience.
