Ubuildit To Open Franchise In Chattanooga

(Tuesday, June 12, 2007) - UBuildIt, described as "the nation's leading company of residential construction consultants for people who want to serve as their own general contractors," will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony June 28 at noon for the grand opening of its Ooltewah office.

The public is invited to the UBuildIt open house, which runs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Located at 5906 Ooltewah/Ringgold Road, the Ooltewah office is the company's first franchise in East Tennessee and the second in the state.

Officials said, "UBuildIt's residential construction advisors provide expert guidance to people who are remodeling or building a new home and want to have more choices and more control during the planning and building process."



"The home is one of the last things in America that is hand-made," said David Messersmith who, together with his wife, Laura, is co-owner of the new franchise. "From designing unique yet realistic plans, to helping people avoid costly mistakes commonly made by homeowners, we provide our clients with guidance in creating a home that is perfect for them."

"Many people want to build their own homes or take on a major remodel, but they are fearful of doing it by themselves," added Ms. Messersmith.

She said, "UBuildIt offers a time-proven system to help our customers every step of the way, from selecting the land and budgeting, to helping hire sub-contractors and making the most effective use of their time. We also provide our clients with a number of professional on-site visits."

Scott Raney, the Ooltewah office's primary construction consultant, brings more than 21 years combined experience in the residential construction industry.

Officials said, "In addition to getting a highly customized house and the satisfaction of having done the project themselves, UBuildIt customers save as much as 15-20% or more on the total cost of the project providing funds that can either be reinvested in the house or put into savings."

David Messersmith said, "We have a very transparent process with no added mark-ups or fees on labor or materials. We are paid through a consulting fee that is agreed upon before the project begins.

"The UBuildIt franchise has a team of licensed and experienced subcontractors available to homeowners. Staff members work with preferred vendors who offer discounts to UBuildIt clients. If customers prefer, they may choose their own subcontractors or even do the work themselves. UBuildIt also can assist customers with finding the right loan package."
