Liquor License To Hu Hot Mongolian Grill

(Friday, May 04, 2007) - The Village Board recently granted its final liquor license to HuHot Mongolian Grill, 2621 S. Oneida St., bringing it to its state quota of 33 combination liquor licenses.

But that doesn't mean other businesses that want to serve liquor are out of luck. The state will allow businesses that meet certain criteria, such as a certain number of hotel rooms or a large banquet hall, to trade in their regular liquor license for a substitute license. This would be at no cost or penalty to that establishment.

Six businesses applied for the license given to HuHot: Hotel Investment Group, for use at Holiday Inn Hotel, 2785 Ramada Way; The Sands, 2039 Holmgren Way; Hooters of Green Bay, 2611 Holmgren Way; Yu's Brother Inc., for use at Chef Chu Chinese Cuisine, 940 Hansen Road; the National Railroad Museum, 2285 S. Broadway.

The village Public Works and Protection Committee forwarded three to the Village Board: HuHot, the Holiday Inn and Hooters.

Anyone applying for additional licenses still would have to get Village Board approval.
