Interior Designer Wins Ahwatukee Chamber Award

(Wednesday, May 02, 2007) - Interior decorating business owner Cynthia Hammersley won the 2007 Palo Verde Award from the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce.

Hammersley, 50, said she was honored just to be one of the five nominees for the award. The chamber announced her as the winner at its Annual Women in Business Luncheon and Showcase last week. Hammersley owns an Interiors by Decorating Den franchise and her territory comprises Ahwatukee.

"I am beyond thrilled," she said. "All the girls who were nominated were all so deserving."

The award goes to someone who is successful in business, an active Ahwatukee chamber member and who gives back to the community. The honor came with a glass plaque and JCPenney gift bag with beauty products, a shopping certificate and haircut, Hammersley said.
