Figaro's Pizza Franchise To Open 12 New Restaurants In Birmingham

(Friday, May 18, 2007) - A local franchise owner of Figaro's Pizza plans to open 75 locations in Alabama and Tennessee in the next 10 years.

The state's first and only location opened in Birmingham in 2005 on U.S. Highway 280 and local owner Gerry Beaubien said in a news release he is scouting spots in the area measuring 1,000 to 1,700 square feet. Figaro's corporate office also announced plans to open 12 others in the Birmingham area by 2010.

The Figaro's Pizza franchise is based in Oregon and has about 120 locations across the country. The corporate office plans to open 15 to 30 new locations each year for the next several years through its master franchisees, said the release.

The pizza restaurant caters to dine-in and delivery customers and is best known for selling baked and nonbaked pizzas, taking advantage of the recent trend in the food industry of pre-prepared meals.
