Chester's Chicken Adds 31 Franchises

(Saturday, September 30, 2006) - Birmingham-based Chester's International has added 31 franchises, including deals to open its first restaurants in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York. The fast-food fried chicken chain also plans to expand into metro Birmingham, where it currently operates a stand-alone restaurant in the Colonnade and two franchise locations through a multi-unit agreement with Circle K corporate stores. "With our first expansions into large metropolitan markets and continued dominance in the convenience-store sector, we have been able to ramp up our franchise development in 2006," said Russ Cooper, president of Chester's International. With 1,823 locations, Chester's is one of the nation's top five chicken restaurant chains.
