More Than 100 Gluten-free Items Available For Sampling

(Wednesday, June 08, 2005) - Water To Go Diet & Nutrition Center located at 562 East Castle Pines Parkway, Unit C-10 in Castle Rock will be hosting a gluten-free test tasting day from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, June 18.

Gluten-free foods are necessary for those with celiac disease. According to the National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse as many as 1 in 133 Americans has celiac disease. This is a digestive disease that can damage the small intestine and hinder absorption of food nutrients. Celiac disease causes the immune system to attack foods containing gluten (such as wheat, oats and barley). But there are many other foods aside from obvious wheat products that contain gluten. These include (but are not limited to) processed foods such as soups, sauces and packaged meats.

The Castle Rock store carries more than 600 gluten-free food products. In addition to gluten-free food products, the store also has more than 200 gluten-free vitamins and many gluten-free personal care products.

The Castle Rock store is equipped with its state-of-the-art Pure & Fresh 12-Stage Water Purification System® that provides the highest quality purified drinking water sold by the gallon. Customers can purchase reusable containers at the stores or bring in their own gallon bottles. Store personnel will carry the filled bottles to customers cars.
