Hot Air Balloons Grace October Skies In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE (Friday, October 20, 2006) - The annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the most photographed event on earth. From Oct. 6-15, hot air balloons of every shape and size graced the New Mexico skies. It's easy to see why this event attracts so much attention. Water To Go, a franchise retail water store and delivery company headquartered in New Jersey, had the chance to participate in this annual event. Water To Go's participating hot air balloon definitely stands out in the crowd. This special shape balloon is a 100 foot tall replica of a five gallon polycarbonate water bottle. However, this balloon was in good company. Alongside the giant water bottle flew Noah's Ark, Uncle Sam, a giant champagne bottle, and a Pepsi can, just to name a few. Thousands of onlookers from all over the world came together as these balloons took flight from the custom-designed, 72 acre balloon park. The balloon park is the length of 54 football fields and is large enough to ensure that each of its 700 participants has adequate room to inflate their balloons. "Out of the Blue" was the theme for this year's balloon fiesta. Guests had to interact with the pilots and crews as they prepared the balloons for flight. Vendors and entertainment completed the fiesta. Next year's fiesta is scheduled for Oct. 4-14, 2007.
