Andy Stout Named Shoney's Restaurants Franchisee Of The Year

(Thursday, December 07, 2006) - Andy Stout, Shoney's Restaurants franchisee and operator, was recently named Shoney's Restaurants 2006 Franchisee of the Year. Stout currently operates five restaurants in South Carolina, three of which he owns. In addition to being named Franchisee of the Year, two of his restaurants were recognized for their outstanding sales.

"It is an honor to be recognized as Franchisee of the Year," said Stout. "I've done just about everything there is to do in a Shoney's Restaurant and I have enjoyed every moment of it."

Being named Franchisee of the Year was the highlight of his restaurant career which began as a busboy in his stepfather's Shoney's restaurant in Sumter, S.C. as a teenager. Often studying between school and work in the restaurant's dining room, Stout showed the determination and work ethic which would be vital to his success.

"From team member, to manager, to franchise owner and operator, Andy is a proven leader among his colleagues and his staff," said Joe Phraner, chief operating officer.

Shoney's Restaurants is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., and owns, operates and franchises 284 restaurants in 18 states.
