Dan Anderson - Courier Franchisee - Kitchener

Dan Anderson choses the Fastway… …to owning his own business

(Wednesday, February 01, 2006) - When someone decides to go into business for themselves, how do they decide which business is best for them? Is a business that has to be built from scratch better than buying a franchise? Maybe not. Many people buy franchises. Why? Franchises have a much greater chance of success because the business system has already been created and franchisees simply follow the system to success. Starting a business from scratch means everything has to be learned the hard way, which is also the long way, so Dan Anderson chose the Fastway.

When asked why he decided to buy a Fastway franchise, he said he "believed in the Fastway system and could see the value in the service that the system provides." Dan went on to say that he "also saw a great potential to make money." That's a very good reason, after all, why else would anyone want to go into business for themselves?

Fastway Couriers was founded in 1983, in New Zealand and began franchising just one year later. In 1993, Fastway began franchising in Australia. Currently, Fastway is franchised in 15 countries worldwide and is the largest domestic courier service in both Australia and New Zealand. It is also the largest Courier Franchise System in the world with over 1380 franchisees and has been the recipient of many prestigious industry and franchising awards.

Dan is not new to the business of package distribution or building customer relationships. He has driven transport trucks and worked as a local courier too, but now he's working for himself. Anyone that gets to know Dan will learn that he has a great sense of humour and he has needed it because he spent over thirteen years working with young offenders. Knowing how to deal with young people must be an advantage for him as he and his wife Heather raise their six kids, Sara, Ami, Andrew, Laura, Kathryn and Scott.

When asked what his goals at Fastway are he said he "wants to grow his business by adding two customers per week until he is earning $2,000 per week". What would be next? "I would like to purchase the other half of Cambridge and develop it the same way." How is he going to do this? "I plan to follow the Fastway program and market my entire territory in two years." Dan adds that "marketing is the key to success and Fastway provides all the materials and support necessary. It is a great opportunity to come in on the ground level of a business where I'll be rewarded for my efforts. The sky is the limit as far as earning potentials are concerned. It's a great system and is easy to follow"

And follow it he does. Dan has over 30 customers who have thus far chosen him as their preferred courier. His customers love him and what's not to love? He's the king of the puns telling his customers his business is "picking up" because he really loves to "deliver". Dan's customers give him gifts to show their appreciation for the service he provides and they also give him references which help him grow his business even faster. It's a great win win relationship.

Succeeding as a Courier Franchisee is really just a matter of following the system. The Fastway franchise has been finely honed over the past 23 years, and the franchisees like Dan, get the benefit of that experience.

Courier Franchises are sold for $20,500 and a guaranteed minimum income of $1,000 per week is offered for the first 20 weeks. No other franchise system has this offer.
