Pet Butler Expands To Kentucky
LEXINGTON (Thursday, April 12, 2007) -
Pat and Sandy Kelly have opened the first Kentucky franchise of Pet Butler, the nation's leading pet waste cleanup service. Pat Kelly is well known locally as a founder and owner of Lexington-based Pop-A-Lock.
Pet Butler, based in Dallas, provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as "#1 in the #2' business."
Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.
The Kellys' Pet Butler operation, based in Lexington, offers weekly and twice-weekly pickup service to Lexington and the surrounding areas.
The Lexington area is a great market for Pet Butler, according to Pat Kelly. "Lexington is a booming town with lots of people who need this service. There is so much to do here, and people would prefer to spend time with their families, rather than pick up poop."
A Marine and entrepreneur, Pat Kelly remains a co-owner of Pop-A-Lock, but recently sold the Louisville Pop-A-Lock operation. "We turned Pop-A-Lock into a household name in Kentucky, and we intend to do the same with Pet Butler. I know when people see what a wonderful service this is, they'll be excited about the business too."
Sandy Kelly has a variety of experience managing a franchise operation and growing a consumer-oriented business, most recently as manager of a local Chick-fil-A restaurant.
Pet Butler is leading the growth in the professional poop scooping market. With close to 60 franchises across the U.S., the company generated more than $2 million in revenue in 2006.
