Getting Your Vitamin C From Oranges Is Getting More Expensive And Mother Nature Is To Blame.

Earlier this winter, California had to deal with a rare snowfall. A prolonged January freeze wiped out a large part of the states citrus crop.
Additionally, Florida is harvesting its smallest crop in 17 years. Many trees were lost in the hurricanes in the past few years. Now, The Denver Post reports the higher price of oranges, means a surcharge on your favorite fruit smoothie.
Many stores in Colorado, including Jamba Juice and Squeeze, are charging 25 to 95 cents more for drinks with fresh orange juice in them.
