Let's Eat Sets Table For Harbor House

ORANGE COUNTY (Monday, February 12, 2007) - A new meal assembly kitchen in Winter Park is reaching out to one of Orange County's oldest non-profit agencies this month.

Let's Eat!, which opened in Winter Park at the end of January, is collecting donations and contributing hundreds of family-sized meals to Harbor House, the sole provider of life-saving services for battered individuals in Orange County for almost 30 years. Each year, Harbor House provides emergency housing for up to 1,000 women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
Let's Eat! will kick off the fundraiser at their grand opening party Feb. 15. The public is invited to enjoy complimentary wine and hors d'œuvres while assembling Let's Eat! meals for Harbor House residents. The grand opening party takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at 155 East Morse Blvd. in Winter Park.
Let's Eat! customers can do their part to help Harbor House residents. When a customer registers for an eight-meal session between Feb. 15 and Feb. 28, they will receive nine meals. The ninth meal will be donated to Harbor House in their name. Customers are asked to assemble the meal that they will be donating to the domestic abuse shelter.
Let's Eat! will also be collecting donations for Harbor House through the end of February. Customers are encouraged to donate laundry detergent, dish soap, bleach, trash bags, gallon-size zip lock bags, zip lock sandwich bags, plastic storage containers, sponges, mops, buckets, brooms, dust pans, household cleaners, new pillows, paper products, grocery store gift certificates, canned goods, towels, pillow cases, hygiene products, baby food, formula, band-aids, towels and wash cloths.
Let's Eat! is a chain of do-it-yourself dinner assembly stores. Each Let's Eat! unit ranges from 1,300 to 1,600 square-feet and includes seven to 14 food preparation stations with all the ingredients, utensils and accessories customers need to prepare their meals from the Let's Eat! menu which changes monthly. In a two-hour session, customers can make eight to 12 dinners, all of which can be frozen and cooked later. Each dish serves four to six people at about $3 per serving.
