Medichair Nanaimo Wins National ‘best Dressed' Store Award

NANAIMO, BC (Thursday, March 29, 2007) - MEDIchair is pleased to announce that MEDIchair Nanaimo has

been selected as the winner of the 2006 Harry Mykolaishyn Best Dressed Store Award

among the organization's 60+ locations across Canada. This achievement award is presented

annually to the MEDIchair franchisee whose overall store layout, design, and presentation,

(as seen through the eyes of the customer), best exemplifies MEDIchair's core values of care,

knowledge, value and customer service excellence.



"Mickey and Lynn Jahelka have created a flagship store that embodies the essence of

MEDIchair and its branding statement - the Home Medical Equipment Specialists," says

MEDIchair COO Bas van Lankvelt. "MEDIchair Nanaimo listened to its customers who

wanted a retail space that allowed people to experience and trial products prior to

purchasing them. The end result is a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art retail space

with approximately half dedicated to a show room designed for MEDIchair's customers.



"We wanted to create a warm and relaxing, customer-friendly, one-stop-shopping

experience where people could navigate throughout our retail space, see products

in their natural setting (e.g. bathroom, stairs, & bedroom) and then ‘test-drive' them

prior to purchase," says Co-owner Mickey Jahelka.



"We spent a lot of time designing the store to make it as non-intimidating as possible

and yet very efficient," says Co-owner Lynn Jahelka. "From the handicapped parking

stalls in front of the store, to the double wide sliding front doors and the multi-level

reception desk (to accommodate people in wheelchairs), we have designed this

store for customer efficiency. There is a flow to our store from reception to

showroom to our receiving dock and warehousing and servicing areas. Every

little detail has been painstakingly examined to maximize efficiency and enhance

customer satisfaction and ease of use."
