Homeless To Send New Year's Photo Greetings Home
(Tuesday, January 02, 2007) -
Helping San Diego's homeless connect with their families, the First Lutheran Church and Grins 2 Go® – a mobile On Location portrait and event photography franchise – will provide new year's photo greetings for the city's homeless on January 5 at 8:30 am.
Hundreds of downtown's poor and homeless come to the First Lutheran Church, located at 3rd and Ash, every Friday and Monday for hot, nourishing meals provided by TACO (Third Avenue Charitable Organization). As the new year begins, Grins 2 Go, Inc., a San Diego headquartered franchise company will take portraits and create holiday greeting cards so these people have a chance to reach out to their loved ones.
"We're in the business of making memories and creating warmth through photography," explains Venu Babla, Vice President of Grins 2 Go, Inc. "What better time than the holidays to do something extra special for the homeless. We hope these portraits will help keep them connected with their families far away."
Grins 2 Go® expects to take approximately 200 portraits and will print the holiday photo greetings on the spot. TACO volunteers will have envelopes and stamps on hand for mailing.
