La Boxing Sold Out In Puerto Rico
Nationwide Cardio Boxing and Kickboxing Fitness Franchise Organization Expands to 61 Units
(Wednesday, March 07, 2007) -
LA BOXING Franchise Corporation, a national operator of distinctive cardio boxing and kickboxing health and fitness gyms, announced today the signing of an area development franchise for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The exclusive-rights area development franchise was awarded to Mr. Alberto De Diego who has committed to opening at least 4 LA BOXING franchises in Puerto Rico. The first franchise will be located in Guaynabo.
Mr. De Diego is a partner in the law offices of Melendez Perez, Ledesma & Prats LLP, located in Hato Rey, PR. His business plan calls for the development of multiple LA BOXING gyms throughout Puerto Rico.
The agreement represents the first planned LA BOXING gyms outside the 50 States. "To make such a move, it is important to have the right franchise partner. We are very excited about Alberto joining our team," said Anthony Geisler, president LA BOXING Franchise Corporation.
"The franchise industry has come a long way since such chains as Tastee Freeze and Big Boy began appearing on the island in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Since then, the number of franchise companies has multiplied aggressively, demonstrating that Puerto Rico is an attractive market for American franchise concepts," said Carl Kosnar, Managing Partner of The Kosnar Group, franchise development consultants for LA BOXING Franchise Corporation.
As a whole, 2,000 franchised fast-food restaurants in Puerto Rico are estimated to generate $1 billion to $1.3 billion a year in revenue, according to The US Department of Commerce and restaurant industry sources.
Other well-known franchises operating in Puerto Rico include 7-Eleven, SuperCuts, Curves, ServiceMaster, Famous Dave's and hundreds more.
LA BOXING grew to 61 franchised gyms in 15 states and Puerto Rico since September, 2004, when it began its franchise marketing program. The Company anticipates growing at the rate of 3 to 4 franchises per month in 2007.
LA BOXING is the gym of preference for amateur and professional athletes and people in the mainstream who are dedicated to leading fit and healthy lives.
Potential LA BOXING franchisees are required to pay a $25,000 franchise fee which is included in the $133,400 to $150,050 of capital needed to get started. Location options range from retail strip shopping centers to freestanding commercial buildings.
