Postal Connections Opens 100th Store Chain Expands By 350% In Four Years

(Monday, January 09, 2006) - Opening two new stores today, Postal Connections of America (PCA), announces its 99th and 100th location in the U.S. The rapidly growing franchise chain of postal, business and communication services stores opens in Indianapolis, Indiana and Costa Mesa, California. The franchise network has retail locations in 25 states. Since January 2002, when current management was put in place, the franchise chain has grown by 350%.

"We are very happy to reach the century mark of 100 stores but also happy with the quality and strong business backgrounds of our new franchisees," says C. "Andy" Thompson, Executive Officer of Postal Connections. "Our stores are modeled on the original concept started in the 80's offering convenience and personalized service with choices of all shipping companies and price alternatives. This is different today from many of our competitors," Thompson says.

The 100th store, 333 East 17th Street, Costa Mesa, is located in a busy Southern California residential community with a large number of small office/home office (SOHO) business people. "We wanted to own a franchise to build a family business in the area where we live," says Diana Brown, franchise owner, "and we realized Postal Connections had a business model that fit our plans and kept costs down helping us compete." Brown and her husband Dave Regula will operate the store. Regula is an insurance agent with Farmers Insurance and past Regional Operations Manager for Huntington National Bank. Brown was a Realtor specializing in commercial real estate and most recently Orange County Sales Director for American Golf Corporation. The Indianapolis PCA, 5650 West 86th Street, in the northwest portion of the city, is the company's 99th retail location. "I've had several years as a business owner and decided after visiting other Postal Connections stores this was what I was looking for---simplicity of operations and driven by good customer service," says Michael Court, Franchise Owner. Court owned a national insurance agency, North American Insurance, specializing in home owners, liability and life insurance. Court also worked with Champion Homebuilders headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI. Court's nephew, Kyle Cambridge will manage the new Postal Connections store.

PCA ‘s rapid expansion is driven by franchise sales featuring low entry fees and royalties, efficiently designed stores, and operations and marketing assistance based on nearly 20 years experience in the retail shipping and packaging business. The business is targeted to, on-the-go customers and small business people who need "back office" assistance. Stores are frequently located in malls and shopping areas where there is ample parking and easy access for taking items into the store for shipping, retrieving mail, making copies or purchasing office and packaging supplies.

PCA stores offer packaging, shipping, mail receiving and forwarding, copies, fax sending and receiving, Internet access, eBay auction support and other products and services. Unlike many similar stores, PCA franchise stores feature shipping alternatives giving customers choices in prices, delivery times and carriers—UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS and others—instead of selling only one shipper's service.
