Ultimate Franchise Systems Inc. Issues Update On Company Ownership Positions

(Tuesday, January 30, 2007) - Ultimate Franchise Systems, Inc., (Pink Sheets: UFSJ), today issued an update of the company's current affiliations, their estimated asset value and the revenues that are projected for 2007. The affiliates are expected to generate combined system- wide sales of over $125 million during 2007. Total assets are estimated at $28.5 million.

These assets are made up of operating restaurants, real estate, franchise royalty contracts and Goodwill. With the exception of an 80% ownership position in Obee's Franchising Systems, Inc., interests in the remaining affiliates varies between 5-30%.


These investments are categorized as: 1) Investments made in publicly-traded companies 2) Investments in Limited Partnerships 3) Investments made in brand affiliations

Ultimate derives revenues from these investments in numerous ways including management fees, dividends, professional services and stockholder distributions. UFSJ's affiliate companies are projected to exceed $28 million in annual revenues during 2007. The following table outlines the current holdings:

As recently announced, Ultimate will be retiring 553,700 shares of common stock to the treasury as a result of our company's stock repurchase program. This will reduce the amount of shares in the public float and reaffirms the company's commitment to continue to improve share holder value.
