Golden Corral Buffet-style Restaurant To Build Franchise In Surprise
SURPRISE, AZ (Saturday, February 10, 2007) -
A Golden Corral restaurant will soon go up at Grand Avenue and Sun Village Parkway.
The national chain of buffet-style diners is expanding its presence in Arizona, according to the company.
Construction of the 10,330-square-foot building is slated to start at the end of February. The restaurant's doors should open to customers before September. advertisement
In the past, branches of the restaurant have been decorated with bright fluorescent signs. A few Surprise planners expressed concern that the restaurant's signs were too loud. Those fears were put to rest in December when the city's Planning and Zoning Commission viewed architectural renderings that displayed neutral desert tones and low-profile signage.
The one-story restaurant will seat 384 people.
The owner of the Surprise franchise also owns a franchise in Mesa. However, the restaurant's corporate office would not release the restaurateur's name.
Another Golden Corral will soon go up in Phoenix on West Thomas Road, according to Golden Corral's corporate office.
The chain operates 13 restaurants in Arizona, with two of those branches in the West Valley. Its corporate offices are based in Raleigh, N.C.
