Embassy Suites Hotels Approves First Property In Mississippi

Embassy Suites Hotel Jackson/Ridgeland to be New Design Option III Prototype

JACKSON, MS (Wednesday, February 07, 2007) - Embassy Suites Hotels announces the approval of the Embassy Suites Hotel Jackson/Ridgeland, MS, the first Embassy Suites property in the state of Mississippi, estimated at $19 million in turnkey development costs. The new 140-suite property will be one of the brand's new Design Option III prototype builds, with a rooms-tower and double-loaded corridors. The hotel will be owned and operated by Kana Hotel Group, based in Knoxville, TN, which owns and operates eight other Hilton Family Hotel brands open or under construction.

Construction is scheduled to begin in summer of 2007 and the property is slated to open in summer of 2008. Located off Interstate 55 just north of Steed Road in Ridgeland, a suburb of Jackson, the Embassy Suites Hotel Jackson/Ridgeland will be located in The Township at Colony Park, an upscale, mixed-use development founded on the concepts of New Urbanism and Traditional Neighborhood Design. The Township at Colony Park is a Kerioth Corporation Development and will offer hotel guests an array of retail, fitness, and restaurant options.

When completed, the new Embassy Suites Hotel Jackson/Ridgeland, MS will provide guests with a full complement of services and amenities including an indoor pool, 6,000 square feet of meeting space and two 32-inch high definition LCD TVs with high definition programming in each suite.

The hotel will feature guest amenities consistent with all Embassy Suites Hotels, such as spacious, two-room suites that include a separate living area with a sofa bed and desk, private bedroom and bath, two televisions, two dual-line phones, high-speed Internet access, a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave oven, and an iron and ironing board. In addition, all Embassy Suites Hotels offer EmbassyDirect Registration Kiosks, with boarding pass printing capabilities, complimentary business center access, a convenient complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and a complimentary two-hour Manager's Reception* each evening.
