Upscale Hotel Chain's Best Saluted during Annual Brand Conference

(Thursday, February 01, 2007) - Embassy Suites Hotels recognized its top hotels during an awards ceremony at the brand's annual General Manager and Directors of Sales conference, held in La Quinta, CA January 16-18. More than 40 awards were presented to hotels chosen from the brand's portfolio of more than 185 hotels throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America. Each honored hotel received a trophy, monetary prize and individual recognition during the conference.

The Connie Awards, named in honor of company founder Conrad Hilton, are awarded based on three key components, including: quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards; customer scores rating staff service; and customer service scores rating the quality of the hotel's physical accommodations. The top three hotels to receive Connie Awards included (in order):

§ Embassy Suites St. Louis - St. Charles/Hotel & Spa
§ Embassy Suites Hampton Roads - Hotel, Spa and Convention Center
§ Embassy Suites Lubbock, Texas

The Hervey Feldman Award, named in honor of one of the pioneers of the Embassy Suites brand and the brand's first president, recognizes the Embassy Suites General Manager of Year. The 2006 honor went to Syed Hasan, general manager of the Embassy Suites Chicago-Downtown/Lakefront. Sarah Poindexter, director of sales at the Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport-Burlingame, was awarded Director of Sales of the Year, while the sales team at the Embassy Suites Albuquerque - Hotel & Spa was awarded the Sales Team of the Year Award. The awards are given to individuals who demonstrate leadership, accountability, business sense and creativity in the area of sales for their hotel.

"A Gathering of Stars" was the theme of the 2007 Embassy Suites Hotels Conference, held at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, Calif.
