Qdoba Mexican Grill Opening Seventh Location In Boston; Expands Franchise Agreement To Include New Hampshire

(Sunday, July 02, 2006) - Chair 5 Restaurants, LLC. will be opening their seventh Qdoba Mexican Grill location at the Station Landing development in July. Their next store in Peabody, MA is scheduled to open in October 2006. These new openings are part of Chair 5's franchise expansion agreement to include more territory in Boston and their introduction into New Hampshire. The first New Hampshire location is slated to open in 2007.

Chair 5's Jeff Ackerman and Gad Liwerant are partners in the venture, along with Earl Howard, vice president of operations. They have over 25 years of combined experience in the restaurant industry.

As a Denver native, Ackerman had watched the locally based Qdoba grow and introduced the brand to the group as they searched for a franchise that fit the Boston market. After reviewing several franchise opportunities Qdoba emerged as a unique concept with the freshest and most original flavor profile.

Ackerman was formerly a managing director of Orion Partners, L.P. and brings his experience in acquisition planning and strategizing for clients in the consumer products, food service and high-tech industries. In addition, Ackerman held marketing positions in food service and hospitality with Procter & Gamble.

Liwerant was the founder, president and CEO of VideoShare, a leading technology company that enables streaming media to be added to all Internet communications. In addition, Liwerant co-founded eBricks, which later became Citadon, a leading platform for the engineering and building industry.

Howard most recently served as director of operations for Legal Sea Foods, where he guided development into new markets, while managing nine units in the Mid-Atlantic region. In addition, Howard gained experience from his positions in restaurant operations with TGI Fridays and Hilltop Steakhouse.

The groups other six Qdoba locations are in Porter Square Shopping Center in Cambridge, MA; and the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston Street; 62 Summer Street in the Financial District; 393 Huntington Ave near Northeastern University; and 961 Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University, all in Boston, MA. Their most recent store opened at The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury, MA.
