Gary Beisler Named 2006 Golden Chain Award Winner By Nation's Restaurant News

(Tuesday, September 05, 2006) - Nation's Restaurant News (NRN) named Gary Beisler, president and chief executive officer of Qdoba Mexican Grill, as a 2006 Golden Chain Award winner. The acknowledgement of Beisler's leadership comes in light of Qdoba announcing their 300th location and 28-quarters (7 years) of same store sales growth.

The Golden Chain Award, which has been presented since 1977, honors multiunit operators for their most recent accomplishments and achievements throughout their careers. The editors at NRN selected six winners, who will be recognized at the Multiunit Foodservice Operators (MUFSO) conference, October 15-18 in Dallas, Texas during the annual awards banquet. During the banquet, one of the Golden Chain Award winners will be named Operator of the Year, an honor which is decided by a vote of their peers.

Beisler is very honored to be named a Golden Chain Award winner. He is proud of the Qdoba brand and its long-standing growth and popularity. Beisler says he employs a leadership style that allows him to "be a generalist and learn every aspect of the business, but still needs to assemble strategic personnel that are experts in their field. "

Beisler has been with Qdoba Mexican Grill for eight years and has 28 years of quick-service restaurant experience. He started with Wendy's and quickly worked his way up into a multi-unit operator at age 23. Next, he served as a Director of Operations for the Fresher Cooker chain. For 10 years he served as Senior Vice President of Rally's Hamburgers. In 1998, Beisler joined Qdoba Mexican Grill when they had only 13 stores.
