Here's The Scoop: You Can Be ''one In A Million''; Ben & Jerry's Global Free Cone Day Continues On April 25, 2006

(Thursday, April 20, 2006) - I scream, you scream, we all scream for FREE Ben & Jerry's ice cream! Make sure to freeze the date on your calendar so you don't miss out on the coolest and most delicious day of the year - Tuesday, April 25, 2006 - when Ben & Jerry's will celebrate its 28th annual Free Cone Day.

From noon to 8:00 p.m. in Ben & Jerry's stores across the country - and around the world - ice cream lovers can enjoy a free cup or cone of their favorite flavor. Last year our Scoop Shops gave away more than 1 million free cones worldwide!

This year, Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's will benefit a specific charity or organization in the local area.

For those with a taste for adventure, Free Cone Day is the perfect time to try out one (or all!) of Ben & Jerry's euphoric new flavors for 2006:

-- Turtle Soup - Vanilla ice cream with fudge & caramel cashews and a caramel swirl

-- Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl - Milk chocolate ice cream with a thick peanut butter swirl

-- American Pie - Cinnamon-brown sugar ice cream with apples and pie crust pieces

-- Strawberry Cheesecake - Strawberry cheesecake ice cream with strawberries and a thick graham cracker swirl

-- Bananas on the Rum - Banana ice cream with a buttery rum brown sugar swirl

-- Baklava - Sweet cream ice cream with praline walnut baklava pieces and a honey-caramel swirl (a "Limited Batch" Scoop Shop exclusive!)

-- For those who like to live on the lighter side, try Lemonade Sorbet - a refreshingly smooth lemon-ice concoction

-- or Jamaican Me Crazy - chunky pineapple sorbet with a passion fruit swirl

On Free Cone Day, Ben & Jerry's fans can get in line as many times as they want, and the line moves quickly because there's no money changing hands. Offering generous 4 oz. scoops (measuring three inches across), one million servings equals 250,000 pounds or 125 tons. All of the Free Cone Day scoops piled one on top of the other would scrape the sky at 250,000 feet - 200 times taller than the Empire State Building! Plus, there's always great fun and surprises at your neighborhood Scoop Shop with local celebrities, music and other entertainment happening throughout the day.

Look for the line on April 25, or for more information, contact your local Ben & Jerry's location.
