President Bush Gets Highest Approval Rating; More Americans Would Prefer To Share An Ice Cream Cone With Dubya Than With Any Other Named V.i.p.s, According To Latest Poll
(Wednesday, May 24, 2006) -
He may have a low approval rating on the political front, but President George W. Bush licks the competition when it comes to sharing an ice cream cone. According to a survey just released by Ben & Jerry's in conjunction with the launch of their new packaged ice cream novelty, The Cone, Bush is the number one choice among top V.I.P.s with whom Americans would want to share an ice cream cone.
Dubya received 21% of the vote, followed by Bill Clinton (20%); Angelina Jolie (19%); Jennifer Aniston (19%); and Kelly Rippa (9%). Looks like the country is still divided between Angelina and Jennifer Aniston.
A few other findings:
1) Men choose Angelina more than anyone else (24%) while women choose Bill Clinton tops (22%).
2) Regional differences? In the Northeastern U.S., Clinton is tops (22%). In the South, it's Bush (24%). In the West, it's also Clinton (24%). And in the Mid West, Angelina beats them both (20%). Yet, in the South, Bill Clinton's homeland, not only do more people want to share a cone with Bush, but they also are more likely to choose Angelina and Jennifer; Clinton is fourth.
If you'd rather share an ice cream cone with someone other than George W. Bush, the ultimate Cone is now available from Ben & Jerry's. The Cone is the first packaged super-premium ice cream cone of its kind. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough features vanilla ice cream with a cookie dough swirl and fudge chunks, and Cherry Garcia features cherry ice cream with sweet dark cherries. Each flavor is topped with fudge chunks and served up in an all-natural waffle cone coated with chocolate on the inside. The Cone is available at supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide. The suggested retail price $2.19 for an individual cone and $3.99 for a multi-pack of three cones.
The Cone survey of 1,001 nationally representative Americans age 18+ was conducted via telephone for Ben & Jerry's by Kelton Research, May 16-18, 2006.
