10 Tips To Prepare For Unexpected Guests

(Friday, October 06, 2006) - You just received a call from friends who announce they are going to "stop by" in 30 minutes, and the house is a mess. When you're in a bind to impress unexpected guests, turn to these quick spruce-up tips from THE MAIDS Home Services to get the house in shape and yourself ready to enjoy your company:

* Use a laundry basket to pick up miscellaneous items and store in a bedroom closet.

* Close all doors to the bedrooms and other rooms not intended for guests.

* Gather hangers and make room in the coat closet for guests' coats.

* Remove dishes from the sink or countertops. If there's no time to wash and put the dishes away, put them on a cookie sheet and stick them in the oven – but don't forget about them!
