Judi Sheppard Missett Garners Lifetime Achievment In Business Award

Jazzercise Founder and CEO Honored by Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce

(Tuesday, March 14, 2006) - Judi Sheppard Missett, founder and CEO of Jazzercise, was honored by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce with a "Lifetime Achievement in Business" award. The award was part of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Orchestrating Business Awards Dinner held at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara on March 10. The prestigious awards dinner honored local business leaders who turned their single notes of wisdom into a symphony of success.

Missett has turned her love of jazz dance into a worldwide dance exercise phenomenon. A fitness advocate and aerobic dance pioneer, Missett founded Jazzercise in 1969. The workout program, which offers a fusion on jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga and kickboxing movements, has positively affected millions of people worldwide. Additionally, she choreographs new routines every 10 weeks for franchised instructors and continues to teach Jazzercise classes. Missett has grown Jazzercise into an international franchise business that today, hosts a network of 6,300 instructors in more than 30 countries.
