"On The Shoulders Of Giants" Award Announced By Re/max And Rismedia
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." (1676 - Isaac Newton - writing about his success to fellow scientist Robert Hooke.)
(Wednesday, August 30, 2006) -
In the spirit of the famous words of Isaac Newton, RE/MAX International and RISMedia have created an annual award entitled "On The Shoulders of Giants" to recognize those individuals whose efforts, works, deeds and character exemplify superior achievements in and for the real estate industry. The first person to receive the award is Howard Brinton, founder of Star Power Systems based in Boulder, Colo.
"Howard has probably helped more people become successful in the real estate business than anyone," declared Dave Liniger, RE/MAX co-founder and chairman of the Board. "His buoyant personality is surpassed only by his knowledge of people, the sales business and the real estate industry. He has not only helped thousands in our business become successful, he also has probably saved the careers of thousands who might otherwise have given up. Howard is a living representation of his own company name - he is a star with unbelievable power - a Giant in this business."
A real estate agent and broker for 17 years, Howard was no stranger to the challenges and demands of a career in the business when in 1989 he began a series of audiotape interviews with top producing brokers and agents. That's when "Stars" was born, and after more than 18,000 hours of research and more than 300 interviews, Howard has continually updated and expanded his services.
"Howard Brinton is not only a great entertainer, educator and mentor - he is a real' person," added John Featherston, RISMedia chief executive officer and publisher. "He is a superior quality individual with high integrity, extraordinary energy, passion and drive. He loves the real estate industry and all the people whose careers he touches and improves every day. We are honored to have a man like Howard Brinton among us."
Brinton, whose wife Barbara was diagnosed with MS in 2001, was instrumental in creating a golf tournament at the Sanctuary Golf Course to raise funds for The Heuga Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with MS through education, wellness programs, and ongoing research. Founded by former Olympic ski racer Jimmie Heuga who was diagnosed with MS in 1970, The Heuga Center has been a pioneer, empowering MS patients with the skills and the "Can-Do" attitude necessary for managing MS to lead a long, fulfilling, and highly productive life.
The award was announced at a pre-tournament "Ninja Selling Seminar" being conducted by Brinton and other speakers including Larry Kendall, Mike Ferry, David Knox, and Floyd Wickman today at The Wildlife Experience Museum and will be officially presented to Brinton at the November 10 RISMedia Power Broker Reception & Dinner being held in conjunction with the annual NAR Conference and Expo. This is the first time the award has been given and will become an annual recognition by the two companies of those individuals whose dedication and contributions to the real estate industry often go unrecognized.
