Rent-a-wreck Of Philadelphia Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary

PHILADELPHIA (Friday, September 01, 2006) - Fred Wolfson, owner and operator of Rent-A-Wreck of Philadelphia, one of two convenient and cost-saving Rent-A-Wreck car rental companies in Philadelphia, is celebrating his 10th year of success this month.

Since joining the Rent-A-Wreck system, the Philadelphia fleet has grown to include a variety of vehicles. Located at 959 North 8 th st., Fred's Rent-A-Wreck is one of more than 300 franchise locations worldwide.

Fred grew up in a family that was deeply involved with cars. Back in the 1920's Fred's great grandfather ran a horse stable from the same spot where Rent-A-Wreck now stands. Fast-forward to 30 years later, and the Wolfson's family business progressed from horses to rental cars, becoming Wolfson's Car Rental.

A graduate of Philadelphia University, Fred inherited the business from his father. After taking over the reigns Fred decided to build upon the already successful agency. Wolfson's Car Rental became Rent-A-Wreck of Philadelphia because Fred saw more opportunities if the business was a popular franchise with a recognizable name. He also added a leasing company, a Budget Truck Rental franchise as well as a repair facility and even a large gas station.

"Our focus over the past ten years has been to meet the used car rental and leasing needs of the community. We've made the Rent-A-Wreck name stand for quality and service," said Fred, a self-described workaholic. "I do everything except sleep," jokes Fred, who besides working his numerous business ventures splits his time between his wife, his position as the president of a local synagogue called Beth Shalom, several other organizations and even golf.

Rent-A-Wreck rents new and used cars, vans and trucks. Used vehicles are typically two to four years old. Every Rent-A-Wreck vehicle is expertly serviced and safety inspected before each rental. Most standard sizes and models, including vans and trucks are available.
