Tin Star Receives Five Gold Stars For Excellence

(Friday, April 15, 2005) - Tin Star Restaurant offers a variety of original meals, classic tastes and decadent desserts in a relaxed atmosphere with a Texan flair.

Tin Star, which opened on March 12, is located at 9300 Six Pines Drive near the Woodlands Mall. The Woodlands franchise is Tin Star's first location in the Houston area, and the restaurant has made a point of supporting the community.

Its grand opening VIP party benefited Interfaith of The Woodlands, and in accordance with its family-friendly atmosphere, Tin Star held an exhibit of sketches by Lamar Elementary students to be judged and awarded prizes.

Tin Star was founded in Dallas in 1999 and its interior design reflets its grassroots beginnings, with rustic decorations giving the restaurant a ranch house feel. Its friendly service further contributes to the hometown atmosphere, making the restaurant a great choice for both family affairs and informal dinners with friends.

Tin Star's diverse menu sets it apart from other restaurants. We recommend the chicken fajitas and the black bean quesadillas. The fajitas are served with bell peppers, guacamole, sour cream, warm flour tortillas and either a half or full pound of grilled chicken. The black bean quesadillas are an excellent choice for vegetarian diners and come with black beans, jack cheese, roasted corn and diced vegetables.

Tin Star also offers a breakfast menu that includes steak and eggs, breakfast tacos and Texas toast. We recommend the classic buttermilk pancakes as the perfect choice for a relaxed brunch. This light and fluffy house favorite is served with hot maple syrup, whipped butter and a side of apple smoked bacon.

For dessert, we recommend the chocolate eruption cake, a delicious three layer cake served with either chocolate or raspberry topping.

Tin Star also offers free chips and dip with each meal in a self serve chip station that presents several original dips that cannot be found at other restaurants.

Tin Star is reasonably priced for the ample servings. The half-pound chicken or beef fajitas cost $9.99, the pancakes run $5.99, and the quesadillas cost $4.99.

For those who are looking to eat healthy, Tin Star provides plenty of options. The menu includes eight salads that can be topped with a low-fat Ranch or a non-fat Honey Mustard dressing. Salads are not the only healthy option - the menu also includes a section called Trainer's Choice that offers meals such as the low carb sirloin and the low fat turkey burger.

The gourmet tacos and fajitas also come with an option to substitute tortillas for "Lose the Carbs" Cool Lettuce Cups.

Overall, Tin Star is an excellent new addition to The Woodlands' growing choice of cuisine. Its Texasn flair, original menu choices and friendly personnel make this restaurant a top choice for relaxed dining.
