Seattle Sutton Appointed As Jamestown College Honorary Chairman For The Campaign For Nursing

Most Recognizable Graduate Chosen to Represent Nursing Program

(Tuesday, April 18, 2006) - Seattle Sutton, R.N., B.S.N., President and Founder of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating was recently appointed by her alma mater, Jamestown College, Jamestown, N.D., as its Honorary Chairman for the Campaign for Nursing.

The Campaign for Nursing was created by the college to further grow the nursing program by increasing the number of students interested in pursuing careers in nursing. The campaign will also be used to entice potential students to the college, because of its dedication to its nursing program.

"I am overjoyed at the appointment as the Honorary Chairman for the Campaign for Nursing at Jamestown College. It is where it all started for me and I am honored to head such a wonderful effort of helping create an interest in the field of nursing and Jamestown College's wonderful academic offerings," said Sutton.

"We chose Ms. Sutton to lead this effort since she is the most recognizable alumna that has graduated from our nursing program. We thought it was an ideal fit – to have our most successful nursing alumni to lead an outreach effort to generate more interest in the program, and hopefully more students will dedicate themselves to the field of nursing," said Dr. Robert S. Badal, Jamestown College president.

Established in 1883, Jamestown College is a private, four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and located in Jamestown, N.D., which grants Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Students may select from 30 areas of academic interest and 17 pre-professional and certification programs. Jamestown College is the first college or university in North Dakota to equip student resident rooms with a desktop computer linked to the campus network at no extra cost to students.
