Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating Is Committed To Customer's Health
Company Serves No Hydrogenated Oils, Partially Hydrogenated Oils and No Trans Fat
(Monday, July 31, 2006) -
Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating (SSHE) is proud to announce that its healthy, fresh meals are free of hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils which means zero trans fatty acid, commonly known as trans fat. The company is also proud of its use of whole grains, flaxseed, fiber and nuts in its meals because of their positive health benefits. All of which are examples of the company's commitment to continue to keep its customer's health its number one priority and further continue its mission to provide healthy, balanced nutrition.
Trans fat is created through a chemical process called hydrogenation. During this process, hydrogen is added to make the liquid vegetable oils more solid. Trans fat is normally found in hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated foods, which can include processed foods like cookies, crackers, pastries, snack foods, fried foods, margarine and shortenings.
"We routinely analyze our meals to ensure we are offering the healthiest meals to our customers. This is why I started this company more than twenty years ago and it is still our driving force today. We serve what health and medical professionals recommend you should eat for the rest of your life," said Seattle Sutton, R.N., B.S.N., Founder and President of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating. "We've spent a great deal of time to find items free of trans fat that taste great and also meet our criteria of being low in calories, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium restricted."
Much discussion and research has taken place recently about diets high in trans fat. Those types of diets have been found to be associated with higher rates of cardiovascular disease. Diets rich in trans fat have also shown to increase LDL cholesterol, also called "bad cholesterol" and lower HDL cholesterol, often called "good cholesterol." According to a recently published statistic by the Food and Drug Administration, individuals in the U.S. 20 years and older consume about 5.8 grams or 2.6 percent of calories per day of trans fat. Medical professionals routinely advise patients to read food labels and avoid foods containing trans fat because of their potential to cause clogging of coronary arteries.
About SSHE Meal Plan:
The SSHE meal plan is simple – it consists of 21 freshly prepared healthy meals weekly and comes in either 1200 or 2000 calories per day (averages per day based on the complete 5-week menu cycle, including recommended fat-free skim milk). The menu provides variety since it rotates on a 5-week schedule, so customers don't eat the same thing twice during the 5-week period. There are no contracts to sign or enrollment fees. And, the plan is very convenient – customers either pick up their meals from a nearby distributor or have them delivered to their home or office twice each week. Those residing in areas outside franchised and distributor areas, may order via national Home Delivery available through the company's toll-free phone number or its web site.
The meal plan* consists of freshly prepared meals and it follows the guidelines of health and nutrition experts:
portion and calorie controlled
low in fat (less than 30 percent of total calories)
