Red Roof Inn Knoxville Renovates With Designer-style And Residential Accents To Create Experience Unparalleled In Economy Lodging

KNOXVILLE (Thursday, June 15, 2006) - Rolling out an all-new contemporary room design with more features than ever, Red Roof Inn has completed renovation at its Knoxville property, located at 209 Advantage Place in Knoxville, Tennessee. The nationwide renovation project touted as "Red's New Rooms" will offer guests more value for their money with more features, including, designer-coordinated look with residential style, colors and textures. This inn was the first Red Roof in Tennessee to receive the new room package.

"When we set out to redesign the room, our goal was to provide quiet, crisp, elegant sophistication with residential touches to make the guest feel comfortable - all at an affordable price."

In 2004, Red Roof Inn began implementing a $200 million multi-year national renovation of all properties that calls for enhanced landscaping, exterior lighting and a complete redesign of the rooms and main lobby areas.

Guest room enhancements from floor to ceiling create the visual appearance of a larger space through more efficient furniture placement, scale and a cohesive blue and red color scheme. Filled with residential styled accents, guests will find furniture in contemporary blond woods with sleek profiles. Typical side table lamps have been replaced with stylish, overhead chrome-finished fixtures. Oversized decorative mirrors have contemporary pewter frames that give a warm residential feel in concert with granite vanity countertops set against a decorative color accent wall. Moving beyond the main room area, guests will find bathrooms with the look of wood flooring, European-styled shower curtains with curved shower rods and artwork on painted accent walls.

Catering to the value-conscious business traveler, Red Roof Inn's business king rooms feature a new furniture arrangement to enhance interaction among guests and increase comfort in viewing the television from three primary points in the room: the work desk, bed or club chair. Typically, hotel room desks face a corner and place the guest's back to the television or other people in the room. Selecting an L-shaped desk that is mounted to the wall with a peninsula extension facing the TV solved this important issue.

Beyond improved space design, the business king rooms now feature integrated built-in cabinetry with microwaves and mini refrigerators to better accommodate guests' travel needs.

The Knoxville Red Roof Inn received enhanced landscaping, exterior lighting and a complete redesign of the main lobby areas and a gourmet coffee service area that contains an assortment of coffee and lattes made from freshly-ground Arabica coffee beans. Rich colors and modern finishes complimented by an exciting decorative mural will create a first impression unparalleled in the economy lodging industry. Guests will feel immediately engaged and at home with the improved layout of the lobbies, featuring a wall mural produced by MDC Wallcovering, provider of digital imaging technology to Starbucks and other retail giants. Centered on a scheme of gold and earth tones, the colors will create a feeling of sensible luxury. A flat screen television tuned to CNN will be standard in the coffee service area to keep guests tapped into world events and news.
